Section 504: Do You Suspect Your Child May Have a Disability?
Aurora Public Schools is committed to identifying and supporting students who may have disabilities through Section 504. If you suspect your child has a disability that is affecting their access to school, you have the right to request a Section 504 evaluation.
If you suspect your child has a disability that may be affecting their access to school, learning, behavior, attendance, health, or participation in school activities, you may request an evaluation at any time. You do not need to be certain your child has a disability to make a referral. A suspicion is enough to begin the conversation. A medical diagnosis is not required to request an evaluation or to be considered for Section 504.
To request a Section 504 evaluation, contact your school's Section 504 Coordinator or one of the District's Section 504 Coordinators:
